Mike's musical journey has spanned several decades and he has performed in many countries. From jamming with the locals in Australia to trading 8's in Africa, Mike is the living embodiment of "Have Guitar Will Travel". Ultimately, his adventures led him to Santa Barbara where he settled in and became a fixture in the growing live music scene and even opened two ice cream shops!

An avid golfer, Mike is as comfortable making an eagle on a par 5 as he is playing fingerstyle Brazilian Jazz. In his role as Dana B. Goods' Artist Relations Manager, Mike probably holds the record for the most "thank you" mentions on CDs!

We should all have as much fun as "Up & Down" Brown!

Best Live Moment as a Player: South Africa 1971 Durban Town Hall during the reign of the all white Apartheid government… in front of an all white audience, playing with the Molombo Jazzmen, an all black trio made up of some of the most out-there players I’ve ever known. It was strictly forbidden for us to play together, but we did it by painting our hands, arms and faces with phosphorescent paint, and performing under black light. From the audience all you could see is brightly colored hands and faces on stage. They would have thrown us all in prison if we’d been caught!

Most Embarrassing Live Moment: In Australia 1976…backing a ventriloquist act, the drummer’s very drunken Father tried to attack the dummy after he made fun of him for being caught staggering in front of the stage in the middle of his act. Two huge bouncers swooped in and picked the guy up and carried him to aside door where they literally threw him into an alley. All we could do is keep playing….it was the drummer's engagement party as well, parents meeting for the first time…..nice.

Favorite Instrument You Currently Own: 1940 Epiphone Regent Zepher Deluxe. I paid $12 for it in South Africa….it is sweet.

Dream Instrument: Happily enough I own it ! My Lakewood acoustic, built for me by Martin Seiliger in ’98.
