Jimmy took his first guitar lesson in 6th grade and started his first band in the 7th grade called The Psychedelic Sound (it was the '60s). After they won the Junior High Battle of the Bands, Jimmy was hooked and never stopped playing. Since then he has worked as a single, duo, trio, quartet, and with horns when the budget allowed. Currently he enjoys playing Blues and R&B on electric, Altered Tuning finger picking instrumentals on acoustic, and strumming Beatles tunes on the ukulele. He also enjoys writing, and has a published novel about a band in the '70s entitled Long Journey, Short Steps.

Musical Influences: In order from 6th Grade until now: George Harrison, Mike Bloomfield, Santana, Larry Carlton, Duke Robillard, Tommy Emmanuel.

Favorite Movie: Forrest Gump

Favorite Author: Ken Follett, Carl Hiaasen. (Note of interest: Besides being a successful author, Ken Follett is a bassist. One of the basses he owns/plays is a Warwick)

Best Live Moment as a Player: "Any of them where I wound up playing on my back while lying on the floor with people dancing all around."

Favorite Instrument You Currently Own: His 1960 Gibson ES-330TDN. There were only 294 Natural finish 330s made in '59 and '60, and Jimmy owns two of them in original condition!
